Introduction to Basic Construction Skills and the Plumbing Trade (120 hrs)

Course Description: This introductory course is designed to equip students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for the construction industry, with an emphasis on the plumbing trade.

Course Outcomes:

  1. Students will learn about jobsite safety and the cost of workplace incidents.
  2. Students will be able to identify components and features used in construction drawings.
  3. Students will be able to use the hand tools and power tools that are essential in the construction and plumbing industries.
  4. Students will receive their OSHA-10 Certification.
  5. Students will learn their NCCER Core Certification.

Plumbing Distribution Systems and Repair (120 hrs)

Course Description: This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to install, maintain, and service various plumbing systems and fixtures commonly found in residential homes.

Course Outcomes:

  1. Students will be able to install and repair various water distribution systems.
  2. Students will be able to install and repair drain, waste, and vent systems.
  3. Students will be able to install and repair various plumbing fixtures.
  4. Students will earn their Basic Plumbing Concepts Certificate
  5. Students will earn their NCCER Level 1 Plumbing Certification.

Water Heaters and Water Treatment Systems (120 hrs)

Course Description: This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to install, service, and maintain water heaters and water treatment systems commonly found in residential homes.

Course Outcomes:

  1. Students will be able to install and repair hot water heaters and their components.
  2. Students will be able to install and repair water treatment systems and their components.
  3. Students will earn their Trades Institute Water Heater Certificate.
  4. Students will obtain their Service and Repair – Plumbing Certificate.
  5. Students will earn their Trades Institute Water Treatment Certificate.

Upon successful completion, students will earn their OSHA-10 and Plumbing Level 1 NCCER Certification.

PLB 201: Comprehensive Plumbing Course: 3 Terms - 360 Hours

Course accredited through NCCER, National Center for Construction Education and Research

Total Cost: $7,500
